It’s Naomi Clemons’s big day. Her dream wedding. And she’s outta here.
One moment. A chance meeting of gazes through the church window pane with someone familiar who radiates intrigue. Independence. It’s the final push Naomi needs to realize…she’s boring. A blonde, cookie cutter, well mannered trophy wife-to-be. How can she expect to lead a fulfilling married life when she’s never lived?
Special Forces diver Jason Bristow needs a beauty pageant coach. Not for himself—although the tattooed bruiser could definitely use some charm. For his little sister who he has returned to St. Augustine, Florida to raise. When a beautiful southern debutante lands on his doorstep, she awakens a hunger that won’t be ignored. If only she wasn’t planning on winning back the ex-fiancé she left at the altar…
Despite the potential for ruin, heat continues to build between Naomi and Jason beneath the sultry Florida sunshine, consuming them both. But they’re on borrowed time…and it’s about to run out.

➳When the unexpected becomes what you most crave, Jason and Naomi become the power couple filled with lust and adoration towards each other in this emotionally, and passionate captivating romance novel…
➳You know when you see and read reviews hyping an author you have never read before, and you become curious and add it to your TBR, but then you are like “hmmm, I don’t know,” and remove said book from your TBR, well that’s what happened to me with Tessa Bailey and I regret my past actions of not reading Getaway Girl when I had the chance. But once this unexpected beauty landed in my correspondence and I opened the package, I knew it was destiny telling me to give Tessa a chance, since she is a New Yorker after all and I ended up finding out she lives about twenty-minutes away from me. And I mean, let’s talk about this cover. We cannot deny that this cover is beyond beautiful and if you decide to pass out on this book and not read it, then your tastes in romance covers has some serious reconsideration to be done… That being said, there is also no denying that this synopsis is what drew me in instantly. I never thought that Getaway Girl was related to Runaway Girl, but once reading it and reading the synopsis of GR, I knew that they were connected so ya’ll know what my next read is…
➳Let me talk about one of my turn-offs when it comes down to romance novels… That is an arrogant asshole who believes he can get any girl he wants, anytime, anywhere. Especially guys who give off that vibe and are just complete jerks in every way. Jason Bistrow is no exception when it comes down to the ideal description of a jerk. But, what makes him different to any other jerks I have read in the past and I have never ended up liking, is that Jason has a past that has made me gooey in the knees and made me crave his touch, his adoration towards protecting those he most cares about, no matter what the issue at hand may be. An unexpected twist and turn makes the appearance of Naomi something that Jason did not see coming hit him right where his life most wanted him not to. No matter though, Naomi becomes an individual in which he finds comfort and a sense of crave towards her mind, soul, and physical attribution.
➳Now, Naomi is a totally different individual in which I, myself, did not see coming once entering this novel. High maintained because her life revolved around money, charity events, a southern belle really, Naomi is about to get married for the purpose of keeping an appearance for the sake of her family. Being groomed to be a constant beauty pageant winner, sustained by family money, to be married away to another individual with family money and soon to be the mayor of the small town where she lives, Naomi soon realizes that this type of life is the life she does not want to be a part of. She wants to properly live a life that has been in the back of her mind to indulge with and make mistakes, regrets, actions in which she can go back to and properly reminisce. After leaving her soon to be husband at the altar, Naomi runs away to find a life that she hopes she can properly enjoy. Her encounter with Jason, and his little sister Birdie is one she did not expect, but becomes the one thing in her mind and life that she soon learns she cannot live without. Especially when the physical attraction that she has towards Jason is one that makes her body crave him more than anything she has ever experienced before;
“There’s nothing polite or reserved about the way Jason kisses me. It’s earthy. Messy. He’s hungry and the femininity is his dinner. He feasts on it with purposeful drives of his tongue, the turning of his head in a dance with mine so our mouths are forced to reposition, mate again, sink into a rhythm, stop and do it all over again…”
➳Sometimes, risking your time as a reader and getting to read a new author with an unexpected story is worth everything, Especially when a book such as Runaway Girl becomes one of your favorites this year. One that you cannot pass over and miss the adventure that is Naomi and Jason. And I mean, there is nothing wrong with drooling over a dirty, ex-military man, with a hurting past that makes him crave the sooth and gentle touch of his partner. Overall, Tessa Bailey has out-done herself in this miraculous and powerful romance novel that will hit your heart in the best kind of way.

About Tessa Bailey
Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.
Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.
She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of nine years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
